Joan L. Hemmerle

Joan L. Hemmerle, 73, of Savannah, GA, passed away Saturday, September 25, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Hatfield, Pa., Joan was a thirty-year resident of Wilmington Island and worked as the bookkeeper and office manager for the Wilmington Island Club formerly the Sheraton Savannah Resort and Country Club. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer where she taught Sunday school for many years.

Surviving are her four children: daughter and her partner, Sharon L. Amspacher and Shelley T. Weil of Telford, PA; daughter and her partner, Cheryl A. Hemmerle and Marsha R. Base of Philadelphia, PA; son and daughter-in-law, Donald C. Hemmerle, Jr. and Pam Sauers-Hemmerle, of Savannah, GA; and son and daughter-in-law, Dan M. and Marie Hemmerle of Jacksonville, FL; her children's father, Donald C. Hemmerle, Sr., of Bradenton, FL; a grandson, Dane M. Hemmerle of Jacksonville, FL; a step-granddaughter, Shelby Rose Webb, of Winthrop, SC; a brother, Robert L. Kramlik of Perkasie, PA, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer on Wilmington Island. A reception will follow at the Wilmington Island Club, 501 Wilmington Island Road. All are welcome to join the family in celebrating Joan's life.
